Sellier & Bellot SB76254RD Rifle 7.62x54mmR 174gr HPBT is a premium match-grade cartridge engineered for the discerning marksman. Featuring a heavy 174-grain Hollow Point Boat Tail bullet, it delivers a muzzle velocity of 2,585 fps with a flat trajectory optimized for long-distance stability. Unlike standard FMJ surplus, these rounds are built to match tolerances with high-quality reloadable brass and non-corrosive primers. Packaged in a 20-round box, this ammunition is the top choice for those seeking to unlock the full accuracy potential of the historic 7.62x54mmR caliber. Defensive Application While designed for the range, the 7.62x54mmR is a high-powered caliber capable of significant energy dump. At 2,582 ft-lbs, it provides absolute stopping power for Perimeter Defense. However, match hollow points (HPBT) are not designed for expansion like hunting hollow points; instead, they prioritize flight consistency. In a residential setting, this round poses an extreme over-penetration risk, as it will easily defeat multiple interior and exterior walls.
